Russell Reynolds Associates surveyed 1,327 company leaders from 53 countries and from all major industries. The survey identifies many important issues for leadership teams, including concerns about talent availability, leadership softness on ESG and DE&I issues, and disconnects between boards and management teams.

FREMONT, CA: Russell Reynolds Associates, a global leadership advisory and executive search firm, unveiled its 2021 Global Leadership Monitor, the first report of its kind to track top business issues and leadership preparedness to face them. The findings focus on the significant challenges and impacts business leaders have faced since the beginning of the pandemic, as well as their confidence and concerns in navigating through the coming future.

Russell Reynolds Associates surveyed 1,327 company leaders from 53 countries and from all major industries. The survey identifies many important issues for leadership teams, including concerns about talent availability, leadership softness on ESG and DE&I issues, and disconnects between boards and management teams.

Despite the difficulties and concerns expressed by leaders, the majority of respondents expressed trust in their collective ability to address the pandemic's remaining commercial-focused business problems, such as economic instability, technological disruption, and evolving customer behavior.

"Leaders have been challenged this last year, and many have succeeded against the odds," stated Clarke Murphy, CEO of Russell Reynolds Associates. "As leaders work on their growth plans, it will be very important that they zero in on leadership capability and culture. The long-term ramifications of the pandemic, as well as the critical dynamics of ESG and DE&I, will reveal which leadership teams have simply been good crisis managers, and which have built the foundations for their organizations to emerge stronger."

"In today's highly unpredictable and uncertain times, we are finding that we are extremely well-placed to help improve the way the world is led. This underpins our purpose as an advisory firm, and to achieve this we do so through the effective use of our suite of leadership assessment tools and the deep proven global expertise of our consultants," stated Peter L. O'Brien, the Head of Russell Reynolds Associates in the Asia Pacific region (APAC).

Russell Reynolds Associates was selected as one of the Top 10 Assessments Service Companies by the HR Tech Outlook magazine for the year 2021.
