FREMONT, CA: Platform provider for small businesses to transition their operations online, GoSite, secured USD16 million in a Series A funding round led by San Diego's Longley Capital, with substantial participation from Stage 2 Capital, Ankona Capital, Serra Ventures and SaaS Ventures, as well as a network of current and former technology entrepreneurs. The company's proceeds from the investment round will be used to expand its national presence and hire talent, as well as further develop innovative products and services for small businesses.

GoSite was founded by Alex Goode when he was in his mid-20s. The company makes software that helps set up an online presence for small businesses. GoSite had shown remarkable growth over the last year when it moved to its new headquarters. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has had a significant impact on the company. Before the outbreak of the virus, the company was hiring aggressively. Post the pandemic, the company experienced a 70 percent increase in customer acquisitions, primarily due to many companies trying to establish an online presence due to the lockdown restrictions.

"Small businesses are facing difficult challenges right now and nothing is more important than making sure we are doing everything possible to help them," said Alex Goode, CEO of GoSite. "We want to enable businesses to continue to operate and grow online, so we create technology to make that as easy and effective as possible." The company also announced new hires, including Frank Auger, who has assumed the role of Chief Customer Officer. GoSite has created over 200 new jobs in 18 months at San Diego headquarters and powered over 6,000 small businesses on the platform with customers in every state.

"Using a digital platform has gone from being a nice-to-have to an absolute must-have," Goode said. "We instantly launch a complete digital presence for them, connecting the business to all major consumer platforms like Google, Yelp, Siri, Alexa, Google Maps, Apple Maps. We give them a modern website. Essentially, we open their doors online."
